CARE RECOMMENDATIONS

    • EVERY DAY CLEANING

      • Your Cartier lighter is an exceptional object that requires care on a day-to-day basis.
      To ensure that your Cartier lighter remains in mint condition, we recommend that you clean it with a soft, dry cloth only. Never use alcohol, acetone or solvents.

    • REFILLING THE GAS

      • The valve cap

      This protects the filling valve. It is very easy to open thanks to the groove and/or notches located on the screw head.

      The filling valve

      Located underneath the valve cap, the filling valve is specially designed for the Cartier gas refill and allows the compartment to be refilled without the risk of overflowing.
      N.B.: When refilling the gas compartment, the lighter must be firmly held in an upside down position.

    • LIGHTING

      • Cartier lighters are fitted with Cartier’s new, extremely reliable gas compartment, which is available in two versions:

      Standard burner version

      Upon initial assembly, Cartier lighters are fitted with a gas compartment with a standard burner, which provides effective cigarette lighting.

      Cigar burner version:

      The gas compartment for cigar burners (available from the Cartier After-Sales Service) can be fitted immediately at the point of sale. This burner has a wide, thick flame, perfect for lighting cigars.

      The flint wheel:

      The Cartier flint wheel provides strong, reliable sparking while offering optimal user comfort. Cartier lighter gas compartments have a large capacity (2.5 grams) and a long burning time (approximately 40 minutes with a flame of 25/30 mm).

    • CHANGING THE FLINT

      • The flint pusher located on the lighter stud makes it very easy to remove flint debris and fit the new flint.

      Flint wear indicator

      The flint pusher is an indicator of the state of wear of the flint. As the flint wears down, the flint pusher moves towards the flint wheel. We recommend changing the flint when the pusher reaches the small ball.

      N.B.: Once the flint has been completely used up, no part of the flint pusher is in contact with the flint wheel, and the wheel rotates freely.

    • ADJUSTING THE FLAME HEIGHT

      • The flame adjustment screw

      This screw allows the flame height to be adjusted easily and accurately (settings on a half turn).

      A very reliable, high performance lighting system, specifically designed for Cartier lighters.

      The invisible hinge

      An invisible hinge, developed specially for Cartier lighters, ensures particularly smooth action while preserving the lighter’s aesthetic purity.
