THE GUIMET MUSEUM OF ASIAN ART IN PARIS

Jade, from Emperors to Art Deco

On view from October 19, 2016 through January 16, 2017

Cartier presents twenty-six exceptional pieces from its collection as part of an imperial jade exhibition being held at the Guimet Museum. This exhibition includes an exceptional loan from the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Over 8,000 years of Chinese history is seen in the production, use and trading of a gem that has been sought after for thousands of years: jade. This fine stone was introduced into Cartier designs at the beginning of the 20th century. An exceptional example of this is the incredible Barbara Hutton necklace, made up of twenty-seven imperial jade beads.
