FLUID INCLUSION
The term used to describe a fissure in a crystalline stone. If the stone is in its growth stage it will close around the inclusion and trap any substances there.
Because these substances are often liquid, bubbles form in the stone hence this term. Ceylon sapphires feature a characteristic type of delicate fluid inclusion known as “fingerprint inclusions”.
