RUTILE
A golden-yellow or red crystal, found as an inclusion in certain gems in the form of slender needles or fibers. Rutile can be seen in corundums, garnets and quartzes and often causes the optical phenomenon known as asterism.
Crystallized titanium dioxide. Hardness: 6 to 6.5.
