Cartier Time Art Mechanics of Passion (2014)

2011: Zurich, Museum Bellerive
2011-2012 Singapore, Art Science Museum
2014 Shanghai, Power Station of Art

With a mise en scène by Japanese designer and close friend of the Maison Tokujin Yoshioka, this exceptional exhibition invites visitors into the heart of Cartier's watchmaking history for the very first time. The traveling exhibition began its journey in Zurich, then met with great success in Singapore and Shanghai. More than 150 historic pieces from the Cartier Collection were on display, prolifically juxtaposed next to more contemporary creations. Among them, two revolutionary timepieces: the forward-thinking, visionary Cartier ID One and Cartier ID Two concept watches, which speak to the open spirit of the Maison. The expertise of the Manufacture's artisans in La Chaux-de-Fond, the mastery of traditional artistic crafts at the service of watchmaking, and innovation itself took pride of place. The highly informative watchmaking exhibition revealed the mysteries of this high technology to watch enthusiasts and curious lay visitors alike.
