In combining a traditional Fine Watchmaking movement with a modern, graphic structure, the Rotonde de Cartier Cadran Lové tourbillon watch symbolizes the unique spirit of Cartier, creator of Fine Watchmaking. Meticulously developed in the Cartier Manufacture, it shows all the characteristics of a rich and constantly renewed watchmaking heritage. Its movement, based on the caliber 9452 MC, has been entirely redesigned in order to invert and skeletonize an entire section. The exceptionally fine finishing has been executed in the strict Geneva tradition, entitling Cartier to display the prestigious Geneva Seal. The very special structure of the solid gold grid results from a design based on highly advanced technology. This preparatory stage is then completed by craftsmen who sculpt the openwork Roman numerals directly in the solid gold block. The numerals are then beveled and decorated entirely by hand, a process requiring many hours of work.
