Louis Cartier created the Santos watch in 1904, sealing his friendship with the aviator Alberto Santos Dumont. The famous aviator's wish was granted: he could check the time while flying.The dial's rounded angles and exposed screws made this an iconic timepiece. Cartier marked the centenary of the watch with the introduction of a steel version.

Steel case, steel octagonal crown set with a faceted synthetic spinel, sapphire crystal, silvered opaline dial, Roman numerals, luminescent sword-shaped black oxidized-steel hands, pink alligator-skin strap, specific Santos 100 steel double adjustable deployant buckle, mechanical movement with self-winding Cartier caliber 076, water-resistant to 100 meters / 330 feet. Case dimensions: 44.2 mm x 35.6 mm, 10.7 mm thickness.
