THE EXHIBITION OF "BEAT TAKESHI KITANO, GOSSE DE PEINTRE"
The exhibition of "Beat Takeshi Kitano, Gosse de peintre", which was held at the Foundation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris, France for six months from March to September, 2011, will be held at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery from April 13 to September 2, 2012.
Beat Takeshi has different faces, e.g., a genius comedian, the world famous film director, Takeshi Kitano... People in Paris were fascinated by his new face; that of the modern artist "Beat Takeshi Kitano".
This exhibition where all the works of Beat Takeshi Kitano will be shown is a triumphant return home of the exhibition held at the Foundation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris, and is his first personal exhibition as the modern artist Beat Takeshi Kitano here in Japan.
The exhibition is like an amusement park where pop culture and science, imagination and satire, tradition and education, beauty and kitsch, are all fused together. Visitors will be drawn into the world of Beat Takeshi Kitano by his unique works created in diversified expression techniques, including painting, installation, video, and participatory workshops.
Works created after the exhibition in Paris will be shown as well.
