The Camail Necklace

Cartier can see both life and movement in nature’s perfection. A bird’s plumage becomes the abstract motif of a choker composed of a 42.44-carat ensemble of five Zambian emeralds. Each gem is highlighted by a curve of square diamonds trimmed with custom-cut onyx that punctuates the end of the pear-shaped diamond. Behind this rhythmic composition lies two feats of jewellery-making prowess: first, the supple movement of the necklace, achieved by the use of invisible articulations; second, the emeralds appear to rest on top of the diamond plumage thanks to their prong-free settings.
