CARTIER WARRANTY IN AUSTRALIA

 

Mandatory Statutory Rights: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

 

The Mandatory Statutory Rights apply only to clocks purchased in Australia and presented for guarantee services in Australia.

 

If you seek to rely on your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law in relation to a defect in goods supplied, you may be entitled to recover any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage that results from the defect. This may include the costs associated with transporting the clocks to Richemont Australia Pty Ltd, a Cartier Boutique, a Cartier Authorized Retailer or a Cartier Authorized After-Sales Service Center.

 

Cartier Warranty in Australia:

This Cartier Warranty, which applies only to clocks purchased and presented for warranty services in Australia, gives you further benefits, which are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and any other laws in relation to the goods. Subject to your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law and the following conditions, your Cartier clock is warrantied for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of purchase stated on your original invoice and/ or warranty booklet against any manufacturing defect (the “Warranty Period”). If your clock is returned during the Warranty Period, Cartier will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace, free of any charge, any component found to be defective by our technical services as a result of a manufacturing defect, subject to the exclusions mentioned hereunder. Upon expiration of the Warranty Period, any services or repairs will be subject to a service charge.

 

Your Cartier Warranty does not cover, notably:

  • Defects and damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident,
  • Defects and damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as services, works and repairs performed by anyone other than a Cartier Boutique, a Cartier Authorized Retailer or a Cartier Authorized After-Sales Service Center, or caused by the use of components and/or accessories other than those recommended by Cartier;
  • Clocks where the serial number originally imprinted is removed or not clearly legible, or where any part of the original clock back or any original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced;
  • Routine maintenance and cleaning, as well as the consequences of the normal wear and tear and ageing of the clock;

 

Should your Cartier clock prove defective, you may obtain the benefit of this Cartier Warranty by bringing or sending your clock to any Cartier Boutique, Cartier Authorized Retailer or Cartier Authorized After-Sales Service Center. For more information and a complete list of Cartier Boutiques, Cartier Authorized Retailers or Cartier Authorized After-Sales Service Centers, please consult the Cartier website www.au.cartier.com or ask the Cartier Boutique or Cartier Authorized Retailer indicated on the Warranty Certificate in the warranty booklet that accompanies your Cartier clock. Only Cartier Boutiques, as well as Cartier Authorized Retailers and Cartier Authorized After-Sales Service Centers, are authorized to provide the Cartier Warranty service in accordance with Cartier’s instructions.

 

In order to benefit from this Cartier Warranty, you will be required to present the Warranty Certificate in the warranty booklet that accompanies your Cartier clock, duly completed, dated, stamped and signed by your Cartier Boutique or your Cartier Authorized Retailer in Australia. Please be certain to retain this Warranty Certificate at all times. Subject to your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law, if you make a claim under this Cartier Warranty (instead of your Mandatory Statutory Rights) you may be responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. We recommend that any shipment to us include certified delivery and insurance.

CARTIER REPAIR WARRANTY FOR AUSTRALIA

 

Mandatory Statutory Rights: Our goods and services may come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

  • to cancel your service contract with us; and
  • to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

 

You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

 

The Mandatory Statutory Rights apply only to products repaired/serviced in Australia and presented for guarantee intervention in Australia.

 

If you seek to rely on your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law in relation to a defect in goods supplied or services provided, you may be entitled to recover any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage that results from the defect. This may include the costs associated with transporting the watch to Richemont Australia Pty Ltd, a Cartier boutique, Cartier authorized retailer or Cartier after-sales service center.

 

The below Cartier Repair Warranty gives you further benefits, which are in addition to your rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law and any other laws in relation to the services.

The Cartier Repair Warranty is totally independent of the Cartier Warranty for Australia or Limited Warranty given with your purchase.

 

Cartier Repair Warranty (only for watches, clocks, pens, lighters and eyewear):

 

Each intervention on your product is performed in compliance with the highest standards of the art and is guaranteed during twelve (12) months (for watches and clocks only: twenty-four (24) months), from the date of repair stated on your repair documents (The “Warranty Period”) against any defect on the intervention found by our technical service, subject to the exclusions mentioned hereunder. The present CARTIER Repair Warranty covers the intervention as defined in your repair documents only and does not apply for any other services.

 

Your Cartier Repair Warranty is not a service contract and does not cover, notably:

 

For watches, clocks, pens, lighters and eyewear:

  • Defects or damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident;
  • Defects or damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as services, works and repairs performed by anyone other than a Cartier boutique, a Cartier authorized retailer or a Cartier after-sales service centre, or caused by the use of components and/or accessories other than those recommended by Cartier;
  • Products where the serial number originally engraved on the product is removed or not clearly legible, or where any part of the original product or any original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced;
  • Routine maintenance and cleaning, as well as the consequences of the normal wear and tear and ageing of the product.

 

For watches and/or clocks only:

  • battery replacement whereas a complete service was recommended by Cartier;
  • crushing to the case, crystal,
  • bracelet or strap

 

Please note also that the Cartier Repair Warranty is not applicable in the event necessary interventions recommended by Cartier are not performed upon your specific request.

 

In order to benefit from the Cartier Repair Warranty, you are required to present the service certificate duly completed, dated, stamped and signed by any Cartier boutique, Cartier authorized retailer or Cartier after-sales service centre and/or the original intervention invoice and/or repair documents. Please be certain to retain your intervention invoice and/or repair documents at all times. You are responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. We recommend that any shipment to us include certified delivery and insurance. Upon expiration of the Warranty Period, any service/repair will be subject to a service charge.

 

Only Cartier boutiques, Cartier authorized retailers or Cartier after-sales service centres are entitled to provide warranty services as defined herein. For more information and a complete list of Cartier boutiques, Cartier authorized retailers or Cartier after-sales service centres, please consult the Cartier website www.au.cartier.com, or ask the Cartier boutique, Cartier authorized retailer or Cartier after-sales service centre indicated in the booklet that accompanies your watch or indicated on your original intervention invoice and/or repair documents.

 

Should your creation following the intervention prove defective, you may obtain warranty service by bringing or sending the creation to your Cartier boutique, Cartier authorized retailer or Cartier after-sales service centre, and, provided you have complied with this Cartier Repair Warranty, Cartier will, at its sole discretion, carry out the intervention again or perform a further intervention to remedy any defect on the first intervention.

 

The present Cartier Repair Warranty is granted by Cartier and is in addition to any other legal rights you could have based on the relevant national legislation; the present Cartier Repair Warranty does not interfere with such rights.

 

Please note that the present Cartier Repair Warranty, the intervention invoice and/or repair documents shall not be construed as a certificate of authenticity.

Cartier Care offers you certain benefits concerning your Cartier desk clock, including personalised information and the possibility to extend your initial International Cartier Warranty Cartier (Warranty Extension). Each of your Cartier desk clocks can benefit from the Warranty Extension as long as the initial warranty is still valid and you are subscribed to Cartier Care.

To benefit from Cartier Care, you must follow the registration process on cartier.com/cartiercare and allow Cartier to use your personal information to be able to receive communication from Cartier about their products and services, including commercial information, and as to whether your request for a Warranty Extension has been accepted or not. We may send you commercial information by email, SMS, phone or post. We may also use your personal information to offer you personalised messages or advertisements on social media or other digital platforms. For more information about how we use your personal information, please consult our Privacy Policy. If you consent to receiving commercial information, you can unsubscribe at any point.

If your request for a Warranty Extension is accepted as part of Cartier Care, your Cartier desk clock will benefit from an extension of your initial International Cartier Warranty for a maximum duration of 6 years. Please note that the total duration of the International Cartier Warranty cannot in any case exceed 8 years. The Warranty Extension applies to your Cartier desk clock and can be used by any subsequent buyer or owner of the desk clock. You can consult the expiration date of your International Cartier Warranty, whether it can be extended and is applicable to your Cartier desk clock at any time by consulting your collection of Cartier desk clocks on your MyCartier account or by contacting a Cartier call centre.

 

The general terms and conditions, exclusion clauses and restrictions of the initial two-year International Cartier Warranty, apply, and continue to apply, throughout the entire duration of the International Cartier Warranty, including during the maximum extension of 6 years. A copy of the initial two-year International Cartier Warranty is available here. Any change to the current general terms and conditions of Cartier Care or the initial two-year International Cartier Warranty will not affect your right as a customer by virtue of the applicable local legislation.

 

You can request a Warranty Extension at any time as part of your Cartier Care as long as your initial two-year International Cartier Warranty is still valid.

 

Your Cartier Care subscription, your right to each of its benefits, including any Warranty Extension, may be refused by Cartier by its own discretion for any reason, included, but not limited to:

  • If you are not duly registered as a beneficiary of Cartier Care;
  • If your Cartier Care subscription is cancelled by Cartier or yourself for any reason;
  • If you do not consent to receiving commercial information when requesting your Warranty Extension or refuse to provide additional information and/or the relevant proof of purchase (for example, a receipt, International Cartier Warranty, etc.);
  • If you request a Warranty Extension and the reference number of your Cartier desk clock does not correspond to the original reference number registered by Cartier;
  • If you request a Warranty Extension outside of the initial two-year period of the International Cartier Warranty;
  • If you request a Warranty Extension and your Cartier desk clock is not eligible for a Warranty Extension as, for example, it is a Cartier desk clock which is not to be sold according to Cartier’s registers (such as a prototype, etc.); or
  • If you are not an end client acting in good faith or in the event of misuse.

 

Cartier can cancel your subscription to Cartier Care and/or the Warranty Extension for the same reasons which will give them the right to refuse, and for any other reason at their discretion, at any time without prior notice. If you wish to cancel your subscription, you can do so at any time by sending an email to CustomerService.Oceania@cartier.com.

 

You must be aged at least 18 or over to subscribe to Cartier Care. Anyone aged 13 or over, but less than 18 years old, must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardians before registering. During registration, you declare to be over 18 years old (or if you are aged between 13 and 18, your parent or legal guardian has given their consent) and you accept to abide to the present terms and conditions.

 

Cartier Care is solely limited to private individuals and only one account is permitted per person. Your subscription to Cartier Care must not be sold, transferred, handed over or shared to anyone else. In the case of abusive or fraudulent activity connected to Cartier Care, and/or any failure to abide to these conditions, as determined by Cartier’s sole discretion, we reserve the right to modify the benefits as part of Cartier Care, in particular, to terminate them.

 

Cartier reserves the right to modify or restrict any aspect of Cartier Care (including its services and/or benefits) without prior notice. And change to this order will be indicated in an updated version of the present terms and conditions on our website.
