The Splendens Necklace
With this creation, Cartier introduces an interpretation of the fighting fish into its bestiary. To represent the floating fins, the jewellers imagined a cascade of spinel beads, with a beautiful chromatic harmony in increasing size. Placed in the centre of an invisible cap, each bead is held by a tiny nail whose surface plays with the light, like water on the scales of a fish. This flexible ensemble is edged with nine oval and pear-shaped spinels totalling 27.79 carats. Its entirety is studded with square or lozenge diamonds.
