Your pen is a precious object that requires your full attention. To preserve your pen as long as possible, we recommend that you follow these tips on a daily basis.

*Ensure that you fully close the cap of your ballpoint pens and fountain pens so as to prevent the ink from drying.

If you only use your fountain pen occasionally and the ink has dried out, flush the nib with lukewarm water.

Do not expose your Cartier pen to any heat source.

When travelling on aeroplanes, we recommend that you charge your fountain pen with a new ink cartridge or a full converter and carry the pen with the nib facing upward so as to avoid any ink leakages.

We recommend that you clean your pen using only a dry, soft cloth without ever using alcohol, acetone or any other solvent.

To ensure that your fountain pen works properly, it is recommended that you clean it approximately once every three months, particularly in the following cases:

- if the ink has dried after a period of non-use;

- if you wish to change the ink colour; 

- if the ink flows irregularly.

*To clean the fountain pen, remove the cartridge from the pen, wash the pen with clean water and dry it thoroughly. 

*For pens fitted with a converter, install the converter filled with cold water and run the water through the pipe. Continue until the water is clear.

*Clean the external parts of the fountain pen using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any other product.
