1904, Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell time while flying. The birth of one of the first ever wristwatches sealed the bonds of friendship between these two pioneers. The rounded angles of the dial, the seamless curve of the horns, and the exposed screws made for an iconic watch that would inspire countless reinterpretations.

Rhodium-finish 18K white gold (750/1000) case and bezel set with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.65 carats, rhodium-finish 18K white gold (750/1000) beaded crown set with 1 brilliant-cut diamond totaling 0.1 carats, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal and caseback, bridges covered in a gradient of blue lacquer with white lacquer hour-markers and set with 5 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.02 carats. Semi-matte dark blue alligator leather strap, second strap in varnished dark blue alligator leather, rhodium-finish 18K white gold (750/1000) ardillon buckle set with 25 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.21 carats.
