Watchmaking, jewellery and leather goods: find out more about the services offered by the Maison.
Clean your glasses regularly with slightly soapy water, then rinse them in clean water and dry them with a Cartier chamois or a soft cloth (except for horn, wood or leather sunglasses).
Always keep your sunglasses in their case when you are not wearing them.
Protect your sunglasses from extreme heat, which could damage the frame and lenses.
Avoid all contact with mercury or strong solvents such as acetone or cleaning products.
WOOD
Although most wooden models are varnished, it is important to avoid contact with water, greasy substances, make-up or cleaning products, which can penetrate the porous fibers and irreversibly deform or stain your sunglasses.
The wood requires no special maintenance and will develop a superb patina over time.
HORN
Genuine horn is a material that requires special care.
Clean your horn creations with the cream provided at the time of purchase two or three times a year depending on how often you use your sunglasses. This cream does not damage metal parts or the lenses of your sunglasses.
Avoid contact with water or detergents, exposure to extreme and/or excessive temperatures, and cleaning them with degreasing agents.
GOLD / PRECIOUS MATERIALS
To clean your creation, use a damp cloth and a neutral detergent, then dry with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid solvents (alcohol, etc.) and aggressive chemical cleaning products.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE
To choose the right size of sunglasses, you can use the dimensions of a comfortable pair that you already own and fit you as a guide.
In most cases, you will find information on the size of the lenses, temples and bridge indicated on the inside of the temples or bridge. If not, you can check these measurements with a tape measure.
Select sunglasses that are as close as possible to these measurements.
Please note that corrective lenses are considered a medical device and cannot be offered by our Cartier boutiques.
If you have any questions or require a service regarding corrective sunglasses, please consult one of our qualified partner opticians via the dedicated section of our website.
CHOOSING YOUR LENSES
The lenses of Cartier sunglasses have been selected to guarantee your protection against the sun's rays, including ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB), and for your visual comfort. The protective filters used are indicated on the right-hand side of the frame of each model.
Most Cartier sunglasses are fitted with Category 2 or 3 lenses.
